Eleanor McEvoy is one of Ireland's finest singers of recent decades. She is best known for her song 'Only A Woman' which was the standout title song on a compilation work that became one of the biggest selling albums in Ireland's history, and has been covered by many including Mary Black and Emmylou Harris.
Multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer Eleanor graduated in music from Trinity College, Dublin and spent four years in Ireland's National Symphony Orchestra before joining Mary Black's touring band.
More recently it is the intimate concert setting she favours, allowing her vulnerable and expressive voice to tease new life out of emotional lyrics.
Eleanor's latest release, her twelfth studio album includes songs co-written with Lloyd Cole, Nat Johnson and Dave Rotheray of The Beautiful South and also features exclusive artwork from an exhibition by acclaimed artist Chris Gollan inspired by Eleanor's songs. Sadly Chris passed away in May 2017 giving the music and artwork a poignancy that neither Chris or Eleanor could have imagined.
