About A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil

Horsehead Theatre Present, A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil

by Christopher Brookmyre

Age recommendation 14+ | Performance time – 90 minutes + interval

When a double murder reunites the classmates of St Elizabeth’s Primary School, scores are settled, debts repaid and alliances forged. Twenty years have passed but will those bonds still hold fast? This hilarious Scottish black comedy, adapted from Christopher Brookmyre’s novel, takes a nostalgic look at school days, filled with psycho teachers, class jokers and playground feuds. All set to a cracking 70s/80s soundtrack! Warning – this play contains very strong language and scenes of a sexual nature.

We are delighted to bring this play by Horsehead Theatre Co to the Tolbooth as part of the Bloody Scotland festival, following a hugely successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
