About Cambuskenneth Abbey: Talk and Tour
Cambuskenneth was the scene of Robert the Bruce’s parliament in 1314, and the burial place of James III and his queen. This tour offers a very rare chance to enter the tower – the only remaining structure on the site.
Dr Murray Cook provides archaeological advice to three Scottish Councils, is an Honorary Research Fellow at Stirling University and is passionate about connecting people with their past. He is particularly passionate about promoting Stirling, which has the most amazing past: Celts and Romans, Wallace and Bruce, Cromwell and Jacobites, up to Gallipoli - every aspect of Scottish history for the last 2000 years is reflected in Stirling's story!
