Making a welcome return to the Tolbooth to kick off the new season of Strange Behaviours shows, Siobhan Wilson is back.
The Elgin-raised, French-speaking singer-songwriter this year released LP There Are No Saints on the ever dependable Song, By Toad Records. The album has seen her mesmeric, delicately aching songwriting lap on the shores of a host of Radio 6 DJs, regularly played and swooned over by Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Mark Radcliffe and Tom Robinson, as well as being a live guest for the Janice Forsyth Show and Vic Galloway.
Captivating and memorable in the truest sense, her live performance is disarmingly emotive, leaving you hanging on every syllable and transfixed as she appears to relive and re-experience every story she sings.
Back to the Tolbooth after performances at the Strange Behaviours Festival 2015 and her support slot in June of this year with Willy Mason, it’s exciting to have her back as the swell of attention and admiration is building further with her new album. Fans of Eva Cassidy, Cocteau Twins and Joni Mitchell will find something to fall in love with here.
