Stirling Soup 4 - An afternoon of soup, live music and the chance to vote to help make a local project a reality.
When, Where & How Much...
Unfortunately, this event has now passed.
'Stirling Soup' is a community crowd-funding event, bringing together local people to support projects that improve our local area. We're delighted that Soup4 is part of Stirling's first volunteer festival, and we're trying out a new time slot on a Sunday afternoon. All welcome - kids too!
Venue: Mayfield Community Centre, Sunnybank Road, St. Ninians, Stirling FK7 0DB
Donate £5 (or more) to come along to an evening of live music and soup, listen to 4 or 5 pitches from local people who have an idea / project to make Stirling a better place to live, and vote on your favourite. At the end of the night, the winner takes away all of the donations to invest in their project (and returns to a future event to update us all on its progress). At our February SOUP we donated £615 to RSVP Stirling, who'll be back to tell us about the impact of winning.
We'll also be bringing back our popular 'get involved' zone, featuring 4 local charities who need your time, hands and energy more than your money. Meet some new people, discover new projects, and have a chat about getting involved in volunteering in Stirling.
And, inspired by I, Daniel Blake and the Bag for Katie campaign, we'll be collecting donations of sanitary towels and tampons to donate to local women using foodbanks and who are living in poverty. Do bring along a donation for them if you can.
It's free to book your ticket via Eventbrite (it helps us figure out how much soup to make!). On the night, please bring along a donation of £5 or more to secure your soup and your vote! All proceeds go directly to the cause or project with the most votes on the night.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No - everyone welcome! Kids are welcome too, and there'll be a seperate (although unsupervised) room right next door to the main hall if your kids will struggle to sit through the pitches.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
I have an idea that benefits Stirling - can I apply to pitch?
Of course! Contact us on StirlingSoup@outlook.com, or fill out the (really simple) application form at goo.gl/forms/OMh9jAHbVvvYQEWy1. The deadline to apply to pitch is 21st August.
Can I help out on the day?
Yes please! Email StirlingSoup@outlook.com
What do I get to eat / drink?
A delicious bowl of soup (thanks to the superstars at Sprinkle Happiness Catering), and delicious bread is included in your entry. We always have a vegan and a gluten free soup option. There's no bar this time, but tea, coffee and juice will be available.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for SOUP4 are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
