About Manran & Skerryvore
Get in the mood for New Year as we bring you an unmissable double bill – as two of the best contemporary Scottish celtic folk-rock bands, Skerryvore and Mànran, bring you an evening of high energy music. Both bands have won numerous awards and are in ever-increasing demand taking them to festivals and tours around the world.
Skerryvore will perform from across their extensive 13 year old catalogue, including new material from their ‘Live Forever’ tours of 2017, that saw them thrill audiences across the globe, from the band’s own flagship event ‘Oban Live’ to USA and throughout Europe. Formed on the tiny lsle of Tiree , the band’s signature sound fuses a mix of musical styles from traditional to rock and iazz.
Mànran are known for their fiery tunes from fiddle, accordion, flute, uilleann and Highland bagpipes, binding powerfully to a rhythm section awash with elements of funk, jazz and rock to create some of the most innovative and uplifting instrumental music around. Couple that with songs ranging from the explosive to the poignant in both Gaelic and English, it’s easy to understand their success.
Each will do a set each, and then will come together for a mighty last number together for an evening to remember. Get your tickets fast!
