The Scottish Council of Jewish Communities, supported by the Central Scotland Regional Equality Council, is hosting a community party to celebrate the end of Chanukah, the eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights, at the Smith Art Gallery in Stirling on Tuesday 19 December.
The event, will commence at 6.30 p.m. with candle-lighting, and feature hands-on art activities, traditional games, and a kosher buffet with doughnuts, traditional Chanukah treats.
The event will give participants the chance to work with community artists Tom Krasny and Roi Carmeli to create beautiful tin decorations inspired by Mexican art and perfect for Chanukah - and with Transition Stirling, who will be upcycling jam-jars as tea-light holders, decorating them with paint, autumn leaves and reusing waste materials.
All are welcome to join us.
The event is free, though we welcome donations (suggested £10 / £5 concessions), to help cover expenses.
Booking is suggested to help with catering numbers, though is not essential. Contact Joanne by calling 077245 49817, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit www.scojec.org/chanukah-stirling-2017 to book your place.
The event is supported by the Central Scotland Regional Equality Council, BEMIS Scotland via Scotland’s Winter Festivals (a partnership between BEMIS Scotland and the Scottish Government to facilitate diverse, multicultural celebrations), and Transition Stirling. It is also part of the Bicentenary of Jewish Communities in Scotland programme.
