Menopause Café Stirling

About Menopause Café Stirling

Most women will, at some time in their life, be affected by the menopause in some way, shape or form but - until recently - the menopause (and the impact it has on women, their families and their colleagues) wasn't something that was really understood or talked much about.

Fortunately that's slowly changing, and the Menopause Cafés are playing a big part in that change!

The Menopause Café is such a simple concept: bring people of all ages together over a cuppa to chat, share their experiences and learn from each other - whether they're not menopausal at all, are peri-menopausal, are in the midst of it or are post menopausal. It provides an opportunity for informal discussion, rather than a structured support group and, depending on the numbers, we usually split into small groups (but do encourage moving around between the groups). It's also important to note that you're welcome to just listen, although we do hope you will join in with the chat!

Menopause Cafés welcome people of all genders, social status and ethnicity. We meet simply as people who are interested in the menopause.

So I do hope you'll join us in the Recyke-A-Bike Café for a cup of tea, coffee, cake and a friendly, respectful blether about all things menopause. If you come along, you're likely to leave feeling a bit more informed, a bit lighter having shared a fair few laughs, and a little relieved to hear that other women really do experience things like 'the rage' too! And, don't worry if you have nobody to come along to the Café with as, even though everyone might be strangers to begin with, you'll soon feel like your amongst friends.

You can learn more about the Menopause Café movement and its objective ('to increase awareness of the impact of the menopause on those experiencing it and their friends, colleagues and families, so that we can make conscious choices about this third stage of life') by checking out the website. You'll also find a wider community of Menopause Café chat on the Facebook page.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Menopause Café Stirling are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
