About Balquhidder, Lochearnhead and Strathyre Highland Games

A traditional highland games in beautiful surroundings on the picturesque western shore of Loch Earn. Competitions include solo piping, highland dancing, tossing the caber, a hill race and the tug o'war. At 1pm the Games Chieftain leads the Clan March onto the field accompanied by a pipe band. Also on the field there are stalls and activities for children plus races that everyone can join in. Whilst there are some excellent catering stands, picnicking around the edge of the competition ring is also encouraged.

Cash only to buy tickets on the gate.

Car parking is free (signposted from A84 and A85) with a separate area for vans and campers.

Dogs are allowed onto the field provided they are on a lead.

The games park is beside Loch Earn at Lochearnhead village which is located at the junction of the A84/A85, 13 miles north of Callander and 20 miles west of Crieff, it is just over an hours’ drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Satnav users should use postcode FK19 8PR.
