About The Big Picnic

Falkirk's favourite festival is back for 2018! Come down to the Helix on Sunday 12th August for a fun filled family day out - and don't forget your picnic! There will be lots of activities for all ages to enjoy plus live entertainment from some fantastic local talent.

Based at the great lawn, there will be a whole host of activity to get involved with, from silent discos to story telling sessions, learning circus skills to carving soap. Please note some activity has a small charge and can be booked in advance. Visit the Wild about Scotland Bus and learn all about our very own native wildlife here in Scotland.

We will have lots of entertaining live music to be enjoyed at The Park Stage, and other great performers at The Garden Stage.

Let the kids burn off those sandwiches playing basketball, tennis and football with our Sports Development team, and check out what local traders have to offer at our stalls!

Falkirk Community Trust Libraries will be leading 3 story telling sessions in partnership with Under the Trees Outdoor Reading project, Stories being told are Super work, Stickman and Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson. Spaces are limited and can be booked at box office gazebo (located next to the plaza café) on the day.

With something for everyone to enjoy , grab a picnic, a blanket and some comfy cushions and head down to The Helix on Sunday 12th August from 11-5pm, see you there!

PLEASE NOTE:

- We recommend parking for free at Falkirk Stadium as the Helix great lawn is just a short stroll across the road. DO NOT PARK ON THE VERGE OF THE M9 !

- For additional event details on the day, head to the Information Point on the Great Lawn.

- This event is dog friendly but make sure to keep your doggy friend on a lead !

- Additional portable toilets will be located by the Adventure Play area.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for The Big Picnic are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
