Kuem-Boo Workshop – March 16th
Home / Jewellery Making Classes / Kuem-Boo Workshop – March 16th
Kuem-Boo is an ancient Korean gilding technique, which literally means, ‘attached gold’. This technique enables a jewellery maker to permanently attach an ultra-fine layer of pure gold to the surface of solid silver. It is a simple, reliable and affordable way to incorporate gold into your designs.
Suitable for complete beginners and well as students looking to expand their skills, this workshop also makes an ideal introduction to some basic jewellery techniques such as sawing, filing and drilling metal.
The day will begin with an introductory lecture followed by a demonstration. Students will then have time to practice the technique in the morning. In the afternoon students will concentrate on creating a simple pendant of pair of
earrings using the techniques they have learned.
All materials are provided and the tutor will be on hand to work with students one-to-one guiding them through the designing and making of their finished piece.
9.30am – 4.30pm with a lunch break. Lunch is not provided but you are welcome to bring a lunch to eat in the studios or we can recommend places nearby to buy a lunch.
**Please note: classes may be cancelled due to lack of attendees. In the unlikely event, you will be fully refunded and notified the day before the class is scheduled**
