About Stirling Soup6

An event which aims to boost charity funds is returning once again. The sixth Stirling SOUP will be held at Stirling Rugby Club on Friday 22 March 2019 from 7pm to 9pm.

The event brings people together for a night of food, live music and passionate pitches from charities who vie for funding. Shortlisted projects, all community causes looking to improve life in Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Falkirk will present to those in attendance to bid to win their vote. Each attendee donates £5 (or more) for their food and a vote with the winning project taking away all donations to make their idea a reality. There will be live music by Stirling and Bridge of Allan Operatic Society (SABOS). They’ll be performing some songs from their forthcoming show at the MacRobert, Calamity Jane.

At the previous Stirling Soup event, which took place in May 2018, charity Contact the Elderly took home 1st place with £425 for their Pen Pals project. Contact the Elderly are supported by a network of volunteers and organise monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of older people aged 75 and over who are dealing with loneliness and social isolation. The funds will be used for their Pen Pals project which will allow primary school pupils and tea party guests to write to each other, sharing stories, learning from each other and having the pleasure of sending and receiving hand written letters. This will strengthen links within our local communities and ultimately help to end the social isolation and loneliness that Contact the Elderly is combating every day.

At SOUP 5, the Stirling Soupers decided to do things differently and use a generous donation of £207 from Creative Stirling as a special prize pot of its own.

A pitch from PLUS Forth Valley succeeded to win this after what can only be described as a unique – all singing, all dancing and brimming with pizazz pitch. PLUS used the money to raise awareness of their services in the Forth Valley and we look forward to hearing their story at SOUP6.

Free tickets are limited and should be secured via our website link above.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Stirling Soup6 are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
