Canal Carnival

Join Scottish Canals and their partners for the Canal Carnival on Saturday 25th May celebrating the re-opening of the Lowland canals at The Falkirk Wheel!

Canal Carnival

About Canal Carnival

Bring your friends and family to wave off a flotilla of more than 70 steam boats, yachts, and Clyde Puffers as they leave the Falkirk Basin on their journey to Auchinstarry!

The flotilla departure will be followed by a selection of live music, scrumptious scran, and unique events as the celebrations continue into the day.

Get your groove on with live music from Camelon Pipe Band, Dj Steven Menzies, and Carbon Copy, visit our mini petting zoo, and join in on our soft archery and water sports! Enjoy guided walks from Ramblers Scotland, take a ride on our bumper boats and water zorbs, take a gander at the Edinburgh Model Boat Club‘s collection, and visit our environment and heritage hubs for lots of info on Scotland’s beautiful canals.

For those looking to refuel during the festivities, there’ll be stone-baked pizza and artisan ice cream from Falkirk-based parlour The Milk Barn, and an array of sweet and savoury treats on offer in the Wheel’s café.

Pop along to the The Falkirk Wheel on Saturday 25th May between 9:30am and 4pm to see what we have in store.

Don’t forget to share your pictures and videos of the day with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the hashtag #CanalCarnival!

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Canal Carnival are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
