Founded in 1973, Esporão’s mission is to make the finest wines from what nature naturally provides, in a responsible and inspiring way.
Today Esporão is one of the leading wine companies in Portugal as well as being one of the largest organic wine producers in the world!
Come and join us for this wine workshop as we taste our way around Alentejo and the Douro, discovering these beautiful regions, this dynamic producer and of course some delicious wines.
The Tasting:
We’ll taste 6 wines from this superb organic producer and find out more about both Alentejo, the home of Esporão as well as the Douro. Portugal is known for the diverse grape varieties so of course we’ll be finding out more about these, some well known and some a bit more obscure.
We’ll cover geology, history, the people and of course the wines so get ready to be fully immersed in the world of Portuguese wine.
The Format:
We will start at 6.30pm, the workshop will last just over an hour with plenty of time for questions. Afterwards we’ll enjoy some cheese and charcuterie nibbles, another glass of wine and a chat.
As with all Wine Events Scotland tastings, the aim is that it’s a relaxed, fun, informal and informative evening. Come on your own or with a friend, whatever your interest or knowledge of wine everyone who enjoys wine is welcome.
This masterclass and tasting will be presented by Wine Events Scotland’s Diana Thompson at The Hotel du Vin in the stunning Burke & Hare Room.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
