The industrial history of Clydebank and the Clydebank Blitz are particularly well represented in the collection with books, maps, pamphlets, reminiscences, photographs and newspapers.

Family History:
We have a broad collection of genealogy resources for those researching their family history, we also provide free access to Ancestry Library Edition and sell vouchers for the popular Scotland's People website.

Exhibitions:
The heritage centre also features exhibitions reflecting the history of Clydebank and the surrounding area. These change regularly to explore local history collections, allowing the public access to historical documents, photographs and artefacts from West Dunbartonshire's collections.

Archives:
The heritage centre houses the archives for the Clydebank area, the archive holdings date back to the mid 1800s and the founding of the Burgh.
The centre offers a wide range of titles on local history, with numerous local books and DVD's available for sale and for reference in the heritage centre.

Research Facility:
We provide a research facility for those unable to visit the heritage centre, if you would like us to carry out research on your behalf, please use our enquiry form below, ensuring you supply any relevant information. The first half hour of research if free; thereafter we charge £15.00 per hour.

Local History Librarians:
Local History Librarians are often available for people to drop-in, however it is always advisable to phone and book an appointment if you are making a special journey.
