Renfrewshire is gearing up for another bumper season of fantastic winter events with an array of free, fun-filled activities for all!

Paisley Halloween Festival

The first major event in the season’s programme kicks off with the award-winning Paisley Halloween Festival on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October with this year’s festival taking on a Dark Circus theme.

More than 300 performers will take part in the event parade, led by a sinister Svengali ringleader and choreographed by internationally acclaimed outdoor performance specialists Cirque Bijou.

There will also be magnificent aerial performances, street theatre artists, acrobats, ferocious fire performers as well as pumpkin carving, arts and crafts activities, movie screenings and a ticketed spooky silent disco - a new addition for this year’s festival.

The fun continues with the annual Fireworks display in Paisley town centre on Saturday 2 November at 7pm when a dazzling display will be set off against the backdrop of the town’s iconic Abbey.

Paisley Christmas Lights Switch-on

Step into Christmas on Saturday 16 November with Paisley Christmas Lights Switch-on getting everyone in the festive spirit.

There will be plenty of Christmas family fun including Christmas Choir concerts, Santa’s Grotto and the chance to meet Santa’s reindeer. Visitors will also be able to enjoy exciting street artists, fantastic performances on the live stage and even head along to the festive roller disco.

The popular Santa parade will return with a new, extended route for 2019 featuring spectacular giant animated puppets, costumed performers and local community groups and street theatre acts.

WinterFest

The town centre also sees the return of the WinterFest event from 23 November until 30 December, run by Paisley First, featuring an outdoor ice rink, LEGO Paisley Penguin Parade Trail and plenty of festive fun.

Renfrew & Johnstone Christmas Lights Switch-ons

The winter events keep on coming with Christmas Lights Switch-Ons in Renfrew on Saturday, 23 November and Johnstone on Saturday, 30 November.

Renfrew will enjoy a day of festive treats and free entertainment before the big Christmas Lights and stunning fireworks display set against the beautiful turrets of Renfrew Town Hall.

Johnstone will have a jolly fun time in Houstoun Square as the twinkling town centre lights are switched on for Christmas alongside a host of free family entertainment.
