About To The Four Winds: Screening and Discussion

What can we do to support and welcome refugees and asylum seekers? 'To The Four Winds', a documentary tackling this urgent question, will be screened at the Macrobert Arts Centre on November 27th as part of the French Film Festival UK.

'To the Four Winds' is about Cédric Herrou, a French farmer, who has been welcoming migrants at his home on the Italian-French border. With the help of friends and volunteers, he challenges French immigration policies which make it impossible for these families to set foot on French soil and seek asylum. Filmed over two years by documentary filmmaker Michel Toesca in an area that is just a train ride away from the glitz and glamour of Cannes, Herrou emerges as an everyday hero who will do anything to help the immigrants, even risking his own freedom.

Dr Beatrice Ivey (French Studies, University of Stirling) will introduce the film, followed by a short roundtable with volunteers from Refuweegees and Forth Valley Welcome, two organisations that support refugees in Scotland.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for To The Four Winds: Screening and Discussion are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
