About Self Referencing in the Classroom Study for Children

Looking for a free educational activity for your child?

Your child could take part in an online science experiment and win a £25 Amazon voucher.

Contact Karen at k.golden@abertay.ac.uk or Josh at j.march@abertay.ac.uk for more details on how to take part.

We are looking at how language used in school activities can affect children’s performance. We are interested in seeing how children do if tasks are made relevant to them in some way, for example by changing the way the task is phrased. The aim of the study is to see if we can help children learn more effectively by understanding how common school activities, like number problems, are processed. More information about our work can be found on our lab webpage HERE

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the study is being run online. If you would like your child to take part, you can email us using the addresses above. We will contact you to arrange a suitable time for a video call. All children participating in this study will receive a thank you certificate, and will be entered into our prize draw for a chance to win one of three £25 Amazon vouchers.
