What now?
Now all that’s left is getting yourself ready for the big day. Here are a few things to consider ahead of your Burns Night In?

Set a date
The most important thing to decide on is when are you hosting your Burns Night? You may want to host it on the 25th, as is tradition, but the choice is down to you. We’ll be here all January to support you for whatever you need. You’ll also need to think about how you’re going to host your Virtual Event, you could do this via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, or even go live on Social Media! If you need help setting this up, just pop me an email and I’ll be more than happy to help.

Invite your guests
A traditional Burns Night is nothing without guests. Get the word out that this year your Burns Night is going virtual. Post on Facebook, text friends, tell your colleagues, just let as many people as possible know your Burns Night is the place to be. You’ll find an invitation in your digital pack, feel free to either print it out and send physical copies, or simply send it via email to your potential guests.

Set up your Just Giving Page
We’d love you to take on some fundraising as part of your Burns Night In. Guests would commonly pay to attend a Burns Night, so why not get your guests to donate to your page instead of a ticket? I’ve attached a simple guide on how to set up a Just Giving page and get the most out of it! Make sure to set it up with plenty of time to spare, if you’re needing help, again just ask!

Do Your Own Thing
Burns Nights may be traditional, but that doesn’t stop you from putting your own spin on things. Why not think up some games for your guests? You could play spot the Haggis, have an arts and crafts section, you could even have a Haggis Hurling competition. It’s your night, so make it a special one!

You’re making a difference
By hosting a Burns Night In, you’ll be helping to fund our Hospital to Home service, making sure people across Scotland get the support they need as they return home from hospital after a devastating diagnosis. With your support, people with chest, heart and stroke conditions will be able to live life to the full again.

If you need absolutely anything in the build up to your Burns Night In just get in touch and I’ll be delighted to help out! Thank you once again for supporting Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland and helping us to make sure that there is no life half lived in Scotland for anyone affected by chest, heart or stroke conditions.
