Uncover the life and work of two unsung heroes of Stirling’s architectural heritage.
Architects, Andrew McLuckie and Ronald Walker, had a significant impact on the townscape of Stirling. Their buildings touched the day-to-day aspects of life: work, home, worship, education and commerce.
Through their work you will discover Stirling’s taste for roller skating, historic hospitals and the stylish villas.
The buildings of McLuckie and Walker are also brought to life through collaborations with two local artists: photographer Jo Cound captures their architecture as it is today in a series of impressive prints; while illustrator David Galletly brings his distinctive style the architect’s work in a set of newly commissioned drawings.
McLuckie & Walker: The Men Who Built Stirling runs from 5 June – 10 July 2021 at Made in Stirling, 44 King Street, Stirling FK8 1AY
The exhibition is funded by Historic Environment Scotland and put together with assistance and archive material from Stirling Archives, The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Stirling Local History Society and The British Newspaper Archives
