In this one day workshop you will weave a beautiful tartan scarf using supersoft Shetland lambswool, spun right here in Scotland. We’ll cover how to warp a rigid heddle loom with a mixture of coloured wool in stripes, as well as introducing you to great weaving technique on this little loom. Choose three colours for your tartan and weave the familiar pattern to produce plaid and checks throughout the length of the scarf.
Our own Coorie staff will lead you through the warping process and how to dress the loom.. You will leave with a full length woven scarf, designed and made by your very own hands.
All equipment and materials are provided along with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch or feel free to nip out to one of the great cafes that are in and around the Thistle Centre. This class is suitable for age 12 and over and complete beginners are very welcome
9.30am – 5pm with a break for lunch.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
