This simple one day workshop will show you how to make a full length scarf from reclaimed strips of the finest Scottish cashmere cloth. Choosing from a wide selection of cashmere cloth strips, our very own Peter will guide you through the method of setting up the warp on a loom. Weaving with the strips of cashmere is fast and fun and you’ll see your scarf appearing before your eyes in super quick time. Securing your weft strips as you go will help enhance the durability and finish of the piece. The full length scarf will be easily finished on the day in this relaxed, informal workshop.
All equipment and materials are provided along with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch or feel free to nip out to one of the great cafes that are in and around the Thistle Centre. This class is suitable for age 12 and over and complete beginners are very welcome.
10am – 4pm with a break for lunch.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
