One of the rings will feature a beautiful gemstone set in a silver bezel, which you’ll solder yourself using a ready-made setting.
We’ll begin with a demonstration covering the entire process—from texturing and soldering to shaping and polishing—along with tips on working with silver, handling tools, and using a handheld blowtorch. You’ll then move on to creating your own rings with expert guidance every step of the way.
Starting with finger sizing, you’ll calculate and measure the wire needed for each ring, then add your chosen hammered texture for a unique, personal finish. You will saw, shape, and prepare them for soldering. Once soldered, you’ll clean and form them into perfectly round rings.
In a special twist on the classic stacking ring class, you’ll also learn how to attach a pre-made setting to one of your rings. Choose a gemstone from our varied collection and learn how to set it securely with expert guidance.
Once your rings are fully formed and textured, we’ll move on to the final step: polishing them to a beautiful shine, ready for you to wear home the same day.
What to bring:
We’ll provide everything you need for your stacking gemstone rings workshop, including tools, silver and small gemstones. You have the option to purchase extra settings and stones at cost price if you have enough time to add more settings.
Please bring along glasses if you need them
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a studio environment, including closed-toe shoes. Why not treat yourself to a CSSJ-branded apron to make you feel right at home?
If you have long hair, please wear it up
If you are the type of person who prefers to arm yourself with some knowledge ahead of time, then we have prepared a Pinterest board filled with Stacking Ring information and inspiration just for you.
Tea, coffee and biscuits supplied, bring your lunch to eat in the studio, or we can advise you of nearby places to eat
