Tuesdays 3rd March - 24th March, 1pm - 4pm
We’ll start right at the beginning, learning how to choose materials, cast on, and master the essential knit and purl stitches.
As the weeks progress, you’ll explore different stitch combinations, learn how to read a knitting pattern, and develop the skills needed to start and finish your own projects with confidence. Cynthia will guide you every step of the way in a friendly, supportive environment that’s as much about sociable stitching as it is about learning new techniques. Over the course, you’ll create a series of stitch swatches and complete a hand-knitted cowl using your chosen stitch, putting your new skills into a piece of wearable knitwear to take home.
Outcomes:
How to hold your needles and material
Knit and purl stitch
How to read a written pattern
How to combine your stitches into a project
How to sew up your knitting
Included in the cost:
Your first pair of 10mm knitting needles
Scrap yarn for swatching and 2 balls of Super Chunky yarn for your cowl
Printed pattern and guides required for projects covered on the course
