Throughout the day, you’ll learn about the characteristics of different species of wood and then get hands-on with a range of traditional hand tools, including draw knives and axes. Our trainers will show you how to use the tools safely and efficiently, and you’ll make something you can take home - usually a mallet, spatula or whittling stick. The emphasis is on helping you learn basic skills which you can then develop for more complex projects.
The workshop is aimed at complete beginners - no experience or skills are needed! All tools and materials are provided. Aimed at adults. Teenagers are welcome (sometimes with adult support) but please email us before booking.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
