Join Eden for a relaxed and inspiring Beginners Group Sewing Course, perfect for anyone looking to build confidence and skills in both hand and machine sewing.
This friendly four-week course takes place on Monday evenings from 6pm to 8pm in our fully equipped studio, with all materials included so you can simply turn up and sew.
Course fees give you full use of our studio space, sewing machines, tools, and fabrics.
Over the four weeks, you’ll learn a wide range of practical and creative techniques while completing beautiful handmade projects.
Week 1 focuses on hand sewing foundations, where you’ll learn essential stitches and basic embroidery while creating your own handmade needle book to use throughout the course.
Week 2 explores creative hand sewing through visible mending. You’ll learn three different techniques including Sashiko stitching, patch repairs, and woven mending, combining practicality with decorative design.
Week 3 introduces machine sewing. Eden will guide you through threading and using a sewing machine with confidence as you sew a small tote bag and practice sewing on buttons using the machine.
Week 4 builds on your machine skills with finishing techniques. You’ll learn how to insert zips and work with linings while making a lined bottle bag or plant pot cover, along with a small lined makeup bag.
This course is ideal for complete beginners or those wanting to refresh their sewing skills in a supportive group environment. By the end, you’ll have a collection of handmade items and the confidence to continue sewing at home.
