Beauty and The Beast is supported locally by Ian Gallacher Jewellers
Written by Johnny McKnight and Directed by Robert Softley Gale
Once upon a time, in a far, far, far-away land – even further than the Howgate Shopping Centre – was a town named Stirling Stella.
A town where the recession never ended, the high street is held together by charity shops and optimism is strictly seasonal.
Bunty Buntock is just trying to keep it all together while worrying about her two children, Belle and Sebastian. Belle has had enough of men – especially her thigh-slapping, protein-shaking, red-flag-waving ex, Gaston.
All Belle wants is finally show everyone in the town that she’s got what it takes to take home that all-important Stirling Stella Showchoir Championship Trophy (the fact there’s a cash prize doesn’t hurt either).
Sebastian is desperate to be taken seriously for once. Tired of being the class clown, he longs for the attention of the local witch, Valentina Rizzla - who hasn’t looked up from her crystal ball (or her phone) since the latest series of The Traitors.
And spare a thought for the once pretty-boy Princey McPrincerson, once the golden boy of Stirling Stella – now cursed, cancelled, and confined to the draughty halls of his 128 room mansion.
A former heart-throb turned misunderstood recluse, he’s gone full folklore nightmare. But behind the fangs and fur lies a man who just wants to be loved again…
Who could have guessed that a stolen rose and a Showchoir final with very suspicious judging – would change their lives forever?
A riotous reimagining of the greatest love story in the pantosphere: part Grease, part Bridgerton, all-bursting with rock-around-the-clock swagger, jukebox attitude, and high-octane harmonies.
Big songs, riotous laughs, and a heart-lifting happy ending that proves even the unlikeliest love can bring the house down!
