Go Forth Stirling has joined forces with Stirling Council and other local partners to support BID members during the Covid-19 crisis.
The organisation also wants to hear from local traders about any initiatives and new practices they have implemented so the Go Forth team can help promote them.
Go Forth Stirling’s Danielle McRorie-Smith said: “We know many of our business owners have already come up with great ideas and offers to help them adapt to the crisis and we want to hear all about them.
“Whether it’s beginning to offer takeaway food and drink, providing a delivery service, moving to e-commerce or coming up with new products please get in touch and let us know.
“Our aim is to focus on the positives so we can support these initiatives and communicate them to a wider audience through our online and social media channels.
“This is a difficult time for our traders and we want everyone to know we are here to support them as best we can.”
Go Forth Stirling is involved in a working group set up to urgently develop an emergency economic action plan designed to support Stirling’s businesses and organisations through the challenges posed by Covid-19.
The group – which includes Stirling Council, STEP, Business Gateway, Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Federation of Small Businesses, VisitScotland and Scottish Enterprise – is working to develop a package of measures designed to safeguard Stirling’s businesses as far as possible.
The website www.investinstirling.com is being used as a single web portal where Stirling-based businesses can access accurate and up to date advice on the support available to them.
The hotline and e-mail account will go live on Monday 23rd March with the hotline manned from 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and from 10am – 2pm on Saturday. We anticipate a high demand of calls so if we aren’t able to respond immediately we will get back to you as soon as possible. Emails will be responded to within 24 hours.
The hotline number will be: 01786 498496 and email address is: investinstirling@stirling.gov.uk
The group is also establishing a business support hotline to be staffed by the partnership while a single weekly update will provide information on all existing and emerging support measures available.
The partnership is also working with Scottish and UK Governments to fully understand exactly how the funding support measures announced recently can be accessed by individual businesses.
Once this has been established, the partnership will also look at what additional support measures can be put in place locally to fill the gaps.
Ms McRorie-Smith said: “We want to assure BID members that we are very much involved in this important and beneficial partnership and working tirelessly to provide the information and help required and to answer any questions business owners have.
“This is a challenging time and we are fully aware of the huge impact the crisis is having on local business.
“We would ask members to keep in contact via our email address and share their concerns and needs with us.
“They should also let us know about anything they are doing which we can help promote.
“Our plan is to share daily communications about the good work our traders are doing.”
Go Forth Stirling Business Improvement District (BID) represents close to 400 local businesses with a key objective of delivering projects and services which improve the area’s trading environment to benefit businesses, shoppers and visitors.
The BID was set up in September 2017 following a vote among the city’s traders and runs for an initial five-year term.
