ANGELS’ SHARE GLASS LAUNCH COCKTAIL PIGS FOR SUMMER

Handmade glass pigs wearing sunglasses and filled with a gin cocktail are the latest innovation from award-winning giftware firm Angels’ Share Glass.

The Cocktail Pigs, which are perfect for a summer picnic, feature a gin liqueur from Stirling Gin distillery which can be poured through the pig’s nose.

They are an addition to the popular Gin Pigs created by the Angels’ Share team who resurrected the Victorian tradition of showcasing gin in glass decanters shaped like pigs.

The Cocktail Pigs, dubbed Pigtails, are being sold online and at luxury brand Harvey Nichols’ flagship Knightsbridge store.

Karen Somerville, Managing Director at Bridge of Allan-based Angels’ Share Glass, said: “Our Gin Pigs have been flying off the shelves ever since we came up with the idea two years ago and we thought it would be fun to create a different summer version.

“The Pigtails are the same size as the usual pigs but we’ve blinged them up by adding sunglasses and the drink inside is either yellow or red depending on which of the two cocktails you choose!

“They make a great addition to a summer picnic or as a gift for a cocktail-loving friend and will cheer people up with their cute expressions.

“They’re a bit of fun and we’re delighted that shoppers in Harvey Nichols will be able to treat themselves to a quality Scottish product.

“We’re also pleased to be partnering with local distillery Stirling Gin who created the delicious gin liqueurs.”

The Pigtails are filled with 50ml of a Stirling Gin cocktail mix. Customers can choose either a Red Cap which makes a Stirlingtini rich in raspberries and summer fruits or Tropical Triumph which is a blend of pineapple and passion fruit.

The glass pig decanter is hand-made at the Angels’ Share Glass studio and has a stopper for the nose so the drink can be poured out and later refilled.

The Pigtails comes boxed and with a cocktail recipe card and are also available as part of a picnic set with a mixer glass and handmade drinks stirrer.

Mrs Somerville added: “Both cocktails are lovely and all you need to do is add your mixer and give it shake – just pour the pig and let the piggylicious fun begin!”

June McCann, co-founder of Stirling Gin, said: “More than ever it is important to support local businesses, so we are delighted to work with Angels’ Share Glass supplying them with our gin and liqueurs.

“Their Cocktail Pigs are the perfect gift for any gin lover.”

The Pigtails are available to buy in the Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge store and online at the Angels’ Share Glass website.

The picnic pack costs £49 and can be found here - www.angelsshareglass.com/collections/new/products/cocktail-pigs-pigtail-picnic-pack

The individual pigtails are priced at £39 with more details here – www.angelsshareglass.com/collections/gin-gift-ideas

Also new for the summer are the Angels’ Share bottle stoppers which allow you to cork your favourite bottle until you are ready for the next glass.

They come with a choice of signature tops – an Angel, Thistle or Pot Still - and are priced at £15 - www.angelsshareglass.com/collections/accessories/products/angels-share-glass-bottle-stoppers

Angels’ Share Glass is based in Bridge of Allan, near Stirling and was established by Master Glassmaker Tom Young MBE and his daughter Karen Somerville in 2013.
