A popular, family-friendly restaurant and bar in Bridge of Allan, near Stirling, has announced the official opening date for its new luxury guest accommodation.
The Meadowpark on Kenilworth Road will be unveiling its four new stylish guest rooms to overnight visitors from Thursday 27th April, following a three-month, half a million pound makeover.
The four-star quality assured guest rooms are brimming with character, charm and original period features, including high ceilings, ornate cornicing and panelled, original sash and case windows and of course their spectacular spiralling original staircase.
Each spacious room enjoys views towards Stirling Castle and the surrounding countryside, taking their name and design inspiration from the local environment and landmarks, such as The Wallace Monument, Castle View, The Bruce & The Airth.
Three of the rooms are king-sized doubles and the fourth room includes a four-poster bed and a double sofa bed to accommodate additional guests.
Breakfast hampers containing local produce will be provided to all guests until noon on weekdays and 10am at weekends, when The Meadowpark restaurant opens for all-day brunches, lunches, afternoon tea and a range of other refreshments.
This will be the second time in its 103-year history that the listed building will be opening its doors to overnight guests. The venue was originally opened as The Beacon School for Girls in 1919 and merged to become Beaconhurst Grange in 1976.
Today, The Meadowpark is well-known as a venue for family and friends to relax, unwind and enjoy country comforts, including home-cooked food, open log fires in the winter and alfresco dining in the summer months.
Head Chef, Jesse Spear, and his team create hearty dishes made with locally sourced, seasonal and often organic produce, including tasty classics, traditional Sunday roasts with all the trimmings and modern temptations. A children’s menu, as well as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available.
A team of expert mixologists have created an innovative new cocktail menu. An extensive wine, craft ale and spirits menu is also available, including Stirling Gin and Deanston Scotch Whisky from the nearby historic village of Doune.
Private event spaces for all occasions are also on offer at The Meadowpark. A relaxed garden area boasts an outdoor pizza oven and can seat up to 70 guests, and a cosy conservatory can seat up to 40 guests.
Euan Bain, Director at The Meadowpark, said:
“We’re really excited to be welcoming overnight guests to The Meadowpark from spring 2022.
“After an extensive makeover, we’re proud to be unveiling these very special guest rooms that combine contemporary style with period charm and fantastic views towards Stirling Castle.
“The Meadowpark has a well-established reputation as one of the most popular family-friendly restaurants and bars in the Forth Valley, so we wanted to build on that reputation by extending our welcome to discerning overnight guests in search of quality overnight accommodation, food and drink within a stone’s throw of the historic city of Stirling, as well as Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.”
Euan added:
“We’re also keen to hear from anyone with any old photographs and memories of our listed building from over the last century. As the current custodians of this historic gem, we’re interested to learn more about its colourful past from the people who have visited over the years or who may have been former pupils when it was a school.”
People with memories and old photographs of The Meadowpark from over the last century are being invited to share their thoughts and collections with The Meadowpark team, who are creating a special local history display within the venue. Digital photographs and memories can be emailed to info@themeadowparkstirling.co.uk
Former pupils of Beacon School for Girls or Beaconhurst Grange are also being invited to enjoy a complimentary dinner on us with a tour of the full venue from the end of April 2022 by emailing their details to info@themeadowparkstirling.co.uk
Prices for an overnight stay at The Meadowpark start from only £175 per night, including a breakfast hamper.
