WOW (Scotland) LTD has been shortlisted for the Embracing Technology award,
sponsored by HFL Holistic Financial Leadership and the Inspiring Leader award after the judging panel reviewed and assessed an unprecedented number of entries.
Gillian Crawford, founder and managing director of WOW (Scotland) LTD trading as Lily Blanche explains: “Our whole team is absolutely thrilled to be a finalist in the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards in the embracing technology category. Technology – from automation to innovation - is at the heart of everything we do. Our data dictates our direction of travel and informs all our decision-making. Having transitioned our jewellery brand Lily Blanche from a traditional B2C company to a pureplay ecommerce business, I am enthusiastic about the benefits of embracing ecommerce to close the gender enterprise gap. In the last few years, I have been delighted to share what we’ve learned at Lily Blanche and what works for us with other women-led businesses to help create a community of women supporting women in the ecommerce sphere.
It's also an honour and surprise to be nominated in the Inspiring Leader category. I've learned so much from other female entrepreneurs and it's lovely to pay it forward by supporting start-ups and scale ups.
We’re especially delighted to be nominated for these WES awards, not just because they are the first awards for three years but because of the incredible calibre of women-led businesses within WES. The dynamism and professionalism of the WES community have been inspirational to me, and I am proud to be a WES ambassador”
Women business leaders from across Scotland have been chosen as finalists for the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards, with 47 finalists across 10 categories
Carolyn Currie, CEO of Women’s Enterprise Scotland commented; “Our last Awards were in 2019, so it is especially important for us to be back in 2022, recognising the impressive achievements of Scotland’s businesswomen. Even more so as WES is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Many women led businesses have adapted or sourced new means of funding during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and as such, they are powerful role models for other women who want to start and grow businesses.
Both the volume and the calibre of entries for the Awards were exceptionally high and the judging panel had a very challenging task to compile the list of finalists. We are looking forward to a fantastic Awards evening next month, when we can shine a spotlight on the myriad of impressive women led businesses across Scotland.”
Winners of the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards, which is being supported by Business Gateway, Royal Bank of Scotland, HFL Holistic Financial Leadership, British Business Bank and Scottish Enterprise will be announced at a glittering ceremony which takes place at the voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 27 October.
Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) was established as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) working to close the gender gap in enterprise participation. The WES vision is for Scotland to be world leading in its approach to supporting women business owners, enabling equal access to resources and opportunities as they develop successful and sustainable businesses.
