Stirling is among the hosts of the event which will see more than 8,000 athletes from 120 countries competing across Central Scotland in 13 different championship races.
Around 25,000 visitors are expected to arrive in the city during three days of time-trial races from August 9 to August 11 and Go Forth is looking for friendly volunteers to help their team of ambassadors welcome them.
The volunteers would join the ambassadors in directing visitors to all the restaurants, cafes, shops and attractions which Stirling has to offer and help them make the most of their trip.
Go Forth Stirling BID Project Director Danielle McRorie-Smith said: “We’re expecting thousands of extra visitors to come to Stirling during the championships and are looking for individuals to help our BID Ambassadors make them feel welcome and have a wonderful time.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the unique independent businesses and world-class destination we have in Stirling and the volunteers will assist the ambassadors with way-finding and recommending cafes and eateries.
“This is all about interacting with people from all over the world and sharing the many hidden gems which Stirling has to offer.
“It will be a fun volunteer opportunity and a chance to be at the heart of the excitement when the Championships come to the city.”
The UCI Cycling World Championships - the biggest event in cycling history - will be hosted across Central Scotland from Glasgow to Edinburgh, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs and many towns and cities in between.
Stirling city centre and the surrounding area, including Kippen, Thornhill and Gargunnock, will provide routes for the individual time-qualifying events for all race categories from Wednesday August 9 to Friday August 11.
All riders will set off from The King’s Knot and return to the city centre via Corn Exchange Road before making their final ascent up to the finish at Stirling Castle esplanade.
The eight volunteer ambassadors are needed for these three days and will work between 9am and 5pm with rotating breaks.
Some familiarity with Stirling city centre is beneficial but not necessary and prior to the event, volunteers and Go Forth ambassadors will meet to discuss plans and become acquainted with the race area.
The volunteers will be supplied with the Go Forth Stirling `I’m Here to Help You’ t-shirts and anyone interested in getting involved should email their details to ambassadors@goforthstirling.co.uk, call 01786445080 or send a message via WhatsApp on 01786 445080.

Go Forth was set up in 2017 and currently represents more than 600 local businesses with a key objective of delivering projects and services which improve Stirling’s trading environment to benefit businesses, shoppers and visitors.
