The multi-talented musician, who has performed at prestigious events including the world-famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, will take on the title role of hunchbacked bellringer Quasimodo in Rubber Chicken Theatre’s latest production which runs from 19-21 October.
Inspired by Victor Hugo's timeless story, the must-see musical features hauntingly beautiful songs from Disney’s popular 1996 adaptation.
Although James has appeared with Rubber Chicken before, this will be his first time playing the male lead.
“Playing Quasimodo will allow me to stretch my abilities and connect with audiences in a whole new way,” said James.
James will be joined on stage by an experienced cast of adults and teens, including recent Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Voice Graduate Holly Jarvis.
Her portrayal of the King of the Gypsies, Clopin, is poised to captivate and delight audiences with her remarkable talent and stage presence.
Artistic Director, Pamela Mackie said: “The Hunchback of Notre Dame musical breathes new life into the classic tale of love, sacrifice and triumph over adversity. With a sweeping score, soaring vocals and stunning set we’re looking forward to transporting audiences back to 15th century Paris.
“Whether you are a fan of Disney, a lover of the Hunchback of Notre Dame story, or simply seeking a unique and awe-inspiring cultural experience right on your doorstep, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is sure to leave a lasting impression.”
