Scotland’s Newest Library’s First Art Exhibition
Three local artists - Chris Mumford, Amy Ricketts and George Thom - will exhibit their work, ranging between ceramics, watercolours, oils and prints.
The event was inspired by Chris Mumford in aid of Strathcarron Hospice. The free exhibition runs from Saturday 11th of May until Sunday 12th of May from 11am until 5pm.
The exhibition will donate 50% of all sales to the hospice, which is based in Denny.
All of the group live in Strathblane. While Amy Ricketts of Blackwood Studios and George Thom of George Thom Ceramics have displayed work nationally, for artist Chris Mumford this is her first ever exhibition.
The artists have been supported by Carol Anne Ogilvy, who is organising the event.
A friendly welcome awaits all.
The Thomas Graham Community Library is a striking modern building with advanced net zero carbon energy system and is the product of a partnership between Strathblane Community Development Trust (SCDT) and Stirling Council. It is the first community council partnership to deliver library services in Scotland: through a blend of charitable and donor finance, community enterprise and local authority expertise. This unique development is believed to be the UK’s first new public library building to be funded by voluntary donation in recent times.
