Macrobert Arts Centre launches Christmas Appeal to bring festive joy to Forth Valley

Macrobert Arts Centre is delighted to announce the return of the annual Christmas Appeal, which provides local disadvantaged families and young people with tickets to Macrobert’s pantomime production of Snow White this festive season.

The centre is encouraging donations with the aim of raising £9,000 – enough to provide over 400 panto tickets to children and young people across Forth Valley.

In previous years, the Appeal has benefited groups and charities such as Stirling Young Carers and Action for Children. In 2023, a representative from Action for Children, Fiona Forson, spoke about the impact the Appeal had made: “We can’t do our job without others supporting us with things like this - as they say it takes a village to raise a child. Everyone was all smiles leaving, it’s so nice to see families having time together and having fun. Our families simply can’t afford an experience like this.”

Macrobert is also planning to run bucket collections at performances of Snow White to raise money for the Christmas Appeal and is currently recruiting volunteer fundraisers to help operate these collections.

Lisa Robertson, Development Manager at Macrobert Arts Centre commented:
“For many people in our communities, experiencing the joy of panto is out of reach. As a charity, we aim to raise funds through our Christmas Appeal that will give a gift of a ticket to Snow White to those from disadvantaged backgrounds across Forth Valley. The excitement and joy we see when audiences join us for some festive fun is truly heartwarming, and we hope to spread that feeling to many children, young people and families this December.”
