GC Live Supports Local Children Charity and Mission Christmas Campaign with Three Major Seasonal Events
25p from every ticket sold for Fawkes Festival, Starry Nights at Dean Castle and the brand-new Starry Nights experience at Beecraigs Country Park will be donated to Cash for Kids, helping to support children across Scotland this Christmas
GC Live, a leading events organiser, has announced today that 25p from every full-price ticket sold for their three major seasonal events will be donated to Cash for Kids Lothians and Cash for Kids West Scotland to support their Mission Christmas campaign.
Mission Christmas is the UK’s largest gift appeal and helps to ensure every child experiences the magic of Christmas. The campaign delivers presents to hundreds of thousands of children who might otherwise go without, ensuring they wake up to a visit from Santa on Christmas morning.
Geoff Crow, Director of GC Live said, “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Cash for Kids once again this year, this time offering support through three major events. By contributing a portion of ticket sales from Fawkes Festival in Edinburgh, Starry Nights at Beecraigs Country Park, West Lothian and Starry Nights at Dean Castle, Kilmarnock, we hope to make a real difference to the lives of children who need it most during the festive season.
“With a large attendance expected across Fawkes Festival and both our Starry Nights events, we’re excited to help bring some extra magic to families across Scotland while supporting this important cause.”
Karayn Chisholm, Corporate Fundraiser for CashForKids Edinburgh, The Lothians, Fife & Falkirk continued: “We are delighted to be chosen as the charity partner for Fawkes Festival at the Royal Highland Centre and the Starry Nights experience at Beecraigs Country Park.
“It’s great that people can enjoy attending these events and support local children at the same time. The money donated will buy gifts and bring the joy of Christmas to local young people who would otherwise go without. From babies experiencing their first Christmas or children excited for Santa, to the teens feeling the pressure to fit in, all of them deserve to feel thought of and cared for.”
Fawkes Festival, Scotland's largest fireworks event will take place at the Royal Highland Centre near Edinburgh, and it will be a unique and immersive safer way to experience the fun of Guy Fawkes Night.
The evening will include breathtaking fireworks and laser display accompanied by entertainment including the world-famous Scottish bagpipe band, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers and the sensational street theatre and LED drummers' troupe, Spark! who magically transform the landscape with mysterious characters. Fawkes Festival’s feel-good programme of entertainment boasts everything from fairground rides to a food village filled with delicious food and drinks, a roaring bonfire, sky trackers, lasers, face painting and more.
Meanwhile, Starry Nights, which returns to Dean Castle in Kilmarnock and arrives for the first time at beautiful Beecraigs Country Park in West Lothian, will offer an immersive outdoor experience for all ages, including festive lights, lasers and captivating sound installations, a Christmas Campfire where visitors can enjoy mulled wine and Christmas treats, a Festive Food Village, interactive entertainers, a Festive Funfair, cosy Carols & Cocktails performances to enjoy with friends and family alike, and the opportunity to meet Santa and his elves at the Santa’s Grotto Experience within Santa Land.
All events will be delivered by technical partners, 21CC Group and sponsored by popular national home builder Taylor Wimpey and will offer memorable experiences for families across Scotland.
Senior Corporate Fundraiser for Cash for Kids Glasgow and the West, Rebecca Campbell continues: "Following the success of last year's partnership with Starry Nights at Dean Castle, we’re delighted to extend our partnership across all GC Live events this year. The incredible response from the community, through ticket purchases, enabled us to directly support over 5,000 children living in poverty. With our expanded partnership for 2024, we hope that we’ll be able to reach even more families in need."
