In an exciting first, the new partner will be unveiling the show’s inaugural accessible lodge, setting a new standard for inclusivity in the industry.
The bespoke accessible lodge, designed in partnership with Love Holiday Homes as a prototype for future builds, showcases a commitment to inclusivity and thoughtful design. Features include wider corridors, rooms, and a balcony with ramped access and sliding internal doors—ensuring a more accessible and comfortable experience for everyone. While accessible lodges have existed within the industry, this marks the first time such an innovative design will be featured at the Scottish Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show.
Jillyanne Glen, Show Manager at the Scottish Caravan, Motorhome, and Holiday Home Show, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Border Caravans as our headline sponsor. Having collaborated with their team for years, we’ve consistently been impressed by their exhibitions at the show. Not only are their products of outstanding quality, but their team is also constantly innovating to bring something fresh and exciting to our guests.
“The Scottish Caravan, Motorhome & Holiday Home Show celebrates flexible holiday-making for everyone, and the introduction of the new accessible lodge exemplifies true flexibility and inclusivity. As Scotland’s largest event of its kind, we are deeply committed to promoting inclusivity and hope the new lodge inspires others in the industry to prioritise it in their designs and exhibitions.
“Alongside the accessible lodge, this year’s show will feature a climbing wall and the return of our popular farmer’s market, filled with delicious local produce. It promises to be a fun-filled day of adventure for friends and family alike.”
The need for greater accessibility in the holiday home industry has long been evident, as many people with accessibility needs find it challenging to find holiday options which cater to them. Border Caravans’ accessible lodge aims to address this gap and spark a movement toward more inclusive designs across the sector.
Dale Gifford, Company Director at Border Caravans, said: “We believe this lodge is more than just a prototype—it’s the beginning of a shift toward creating spaces that truly welcome everyone.
“We are excited to bring this new option to the show for the very first time to coincide with our first year sponsoring the Scottish Caravan, Motorhome & Holiday Home Show. We’ve attended the show for years as exhibitors so it’s great to be involved in such a meaningful way, and look forward to welcoming new and familiar faces from across the UK to the 2025 event.”
Border Caravans operate four award winning holiday parks throughout the Scottish Borders and stand proud as one of Scotland’s leading family-owned holiday park operators. Their parks, Lilliardsedge Holiday Park at Jedburgh, Westlands Country Park at Annan, Riverside Caravan Park at Hawick and Mouswald Lodge Park at Dumfries boast a wide offering including holiday homes for purchase and hot tub lodges for hire alongside bars, restaurants, live entertainment, a world class clay pigeon shooting ground, Fishing Lakes, Golf Course, tranquil surroundings and their very own music festival ensuring something for everyone. Visitors will be able to view what Border Caravans have to offer at the show in February.
The Scottish Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Show will take place 6-9th February at the SEC Glasgow. Visitors can buy tickets now at: www.caravanshowscotland.com
