The launch will include a live cooking demonstration by Johnny Aitken, Food & Beverage Director at the Lodge on Loch Lomond, followed by the unveiling of the book.
The book, created by Love Loch Lomond with the support of local producers and a grant from the Scotland Food & Drink Regional Food Fund, celebrates the rich food and drink heritage of Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, and the Clyde Sea Lochs. It brings together inspiring stories, stunning photography, and delicious recipes from chefs, farmers, and artisans across the region.
Chef Johnny Aitken, known for his passion for foraging and local produce, will showcase a recipe using local ingredients, giving visitors a flavour of what’s inside.
Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food at Scotland Food & Drink, said: “The Regional Food Fund is designed to support collaborative projects that champion and promote local produce, and A Taste of Loch Lomond is an exciting and innovative example of this. We are happy to see so many farmers, producers and chefs working together to bring Scotland’s larder to life – especially with delicious recipes that highlight such wonderful ingredients.”
Deborah Macken, East Cambusmoon Holiday Cottages, featured in the book said: “It’s wonderful to be part of a group of fabulous local businesses showcasing the great variety and quality of food around Loch Lomond. These businesses are a great asset to the local economy and there are some really strong relationships between local producers, restaurants and retailers. Overall, it’s an inspiring collection of people, place and produce. Loch Lomond’s food and drink stories are a key part of the hospitality and tourism economy.”
“We’re thrilled to launch A Taste of Loch Lomond at the heart of the region it celebrates,” said Karen Donnelly, Destination Manager at Love Loch Lomond. “This book is a tribute to the passionate producers, chefs, and storytellers who make our food scene so special.”
Festival-goers and media are invited to attend the book launch and photo call at the festival’s main marquee on Sunday at 11.00am. Copies of the book will be available to purchase, offering a lasting taste of Loch Lomond to take home.
