The two-week programme will showcase Stirling’s vibrant food scene from artisan makers and growers to community cafés, researchers and chefs highlighting Stirlingshire’s commitment to healthy, sustainable and community-centred food systems.
Delivered in partnership with the Stirling Food Partnership, it supports the development of Stirling’s good food nation plan and aims to spark conversations about what food means to our communities, our economy and our environment.
Cllr Brian Hambly, Community & Wellbeing Committee Convener, said: “Stirling Good Food Fortnight is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the diversity and quality of our local food scene.
“Food is about more than what’s on our plates – it’s about health, culture, climate and community. This fortnight will bring people together, support local producers and help shape how we build a fairer and more sustainable food system for the future.
“As we develop a new good food nation plan, we want everyone, from businesses to families, to be part of the conversation about what good food means for Stirling.”
A diverse programme of events is planned across the region, including:
Big tasty read at Stirling Council libraries
Residents can enjoy a feast for the imagination at local libraries during the fortnight, with themed book displays celebrating food in fiction, travel writing and cookery. Visitors can discover new recipes, revisit culinary classics and explore how food connects cultures and communities.
Community food spotlight
From community gardens and veg barras to café lunch clubs, the fortnight will shine a light on the grassroots projects helping people grow, cook and share food across Stirlingshire. More info on the council website.
Food for the future – Stirling University round table (Wednesday 4 March 4-6pm)
Researchers and guests will explore how food innovation, including increasing seafood in Scottish diets, can support public health and the UK’s net zero ambitions. With something for food lovers, families, community groups and businesses alike, Stirling Good Food Fortnight 2026 offers a chance to discover, connect and celebrate. Stirling Farmers’ Market (Saturday 14 March 10am – 4pm)
The fortnight concludes with a special focus at the Stirling farmers’ market, celebrating local, sustainable Scottish producers and creative food businesses.
Stirling Good Food Fortnight Closing event (Thursday 12 March 5pm – 7pm)
The closing event at Forth Valley College will bring together a variety of groups and businesses to discuss how Stirling moves forward within the good food nation plan.
Meet the producers (Tuesday 24 March, 9.30am – 12pm)
Hosted by STEP, Central Scotland’s business support organisation, in partnership with Forth Valley Food and Drink, this popular annual showcase connects businesses with some of the region’s most exciting food and drink producers. It’s an opportunity to strengthen local supply chains and celebrate the quality on our doorstep.

The events will also raise awareness of the Stirling Food Partnership, which enables coordinated action across sectors while supporting policy development and community-led initiatives and the Good Food Nation Plans being developed over the next few years by Stirling Council.
The Good Food Nation Plan is a Scottish Government strategy that aims to transform Scotland into a country where everyone takes pride in, has access to, and benefits from healthy, sustainable, and locally produced food.
The official opening of a new purpose-built community building has been celebrated by local residents in Doune and Deanston, together with key partners and supporters.
