4DX has already built a reputation – and plenty of TikTok fame – as Cineworld’s extreme cinema format, known for turning big screen releases into full-body experiences. Known for its motion seats and environmental effects including wind, water, scents, strobe lighting, snow, bubbles and more, 4DX already activates multiple senses. Now, with the new Galactic popcorn topper upgrade, guests can add one more: taste.
Inspired by the colourful world of Super Mario, the limited-edition popcorn features Candy King rainbow mix and giant snowies, topped with a Fizz Wiz strawberry popping candy, transforming a classic cinema snack into a playful power-up that enhances the overall experience for just an additional £1.99
4DX is available across 34 cinemas in the UK, only at Cineworld. Scenes set across shimmering water worlds and cosmic environments across the Super Mario Galaxy are enhanced with effects timed precisely to the action, from gentle seat sways and water sprays during water scenes, to wind, fog and bubbles that bring planetary travel to life. The result is a tactile layer to the adventure that places audiences right inside Mario’s journey across the galaxy.
Tim Sparrow, Director of Retail at Cineworld, said: “Mario is all about power-ups, colour and sensory fun. At Cineworld, 4DX already lets you feel the action on screen, and with our new Galactic Popcorn Topper, audiences can now taste the excitement too. Premium formats deserve premium snacks that extend the immersive world beyond the screen.”
The new popcorn topper will be available for a limited time across all 87 Cineworld cinemas nationwide, whether guests are watching their film in 2D, 4DX or any other format. Fans can enjoy the new flavour with any screening, or power up their visit to the highest level by pairing it with the full sensory experience of 4DX.
A range of Super Mario-themed collectible merchandise is also available now at Cineworld, including an Embossed Square Popcorn Tin and a Yoshi Popcorn Bucket. Alongside this, a Character Cup with a collectible Luma Plushie Keychain Blind Box will be available in cinemas from this Friday. All come with a regular soft drink or fruit shoot and you can add a regular popcorn for only £5when you buy in cinema.
Guests can book tickets their visit now at cineworld.com or on the Cineworld app.
