Learn how to design and prepare your embossing, embossing a beautiful, subtle outcome that can be framed for your wall, or used as a greeting card. This process uses no ink, but creates raised areas on printmaking paper, using a combination of found, cut and carved materials. You will be shown how to properly prepare your paper for embossing, as well as using a traditional etching press. You will be shown how to carve your image from lino, learning the correct method for carving.
No experience needed, this workshop is ideal for beginners or as a refresher session!
All materials provided, but please feel free to bring along inspiration imagery that can either be copied or traced on to lino for carving or on to card to cut out (no bigger than A5 size).
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
You will create several embossings that can be taken home to edition, frame, gift to loved ones or used to create unique handmade greeting cards! Your prints will be embossed onto high-quality, heavyweight printmaking paper.
The class will be three hours, but if you finish earlier you can stay to watch other people’s designs come to life, or maybe have a browse in the wonderful Made in Stirling shop!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
