The park provides plenty of recreational activities for local residents and visitors alike. The large networks of paths through the scenic countryside are ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding.
The park landscape is varied and consists of the open water of the Barrhead dams, wetland and burns, woodland, grassland and scrub. As a result the park is home to a diverse range of wildlife and in particular is a birdwatchers paradise.
Walking, cycling and horse riding:
A seven mile network of paths already exists across Dams to Darnley Country Park providing opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding. As the country park develops the path network and access links to surrounding communities will be developed further.
What's on at the country park:
Throughout the year the countryside rangers will be delivering a series of community events, activities and guided walks for all the family.
All the events are FREE, although booking is required for some. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
On Wednesday mornings join the Dams To Darnley Countryside Ranger for a health walk through the park leaving from Darnley Mill Car Park.
