STIRLING GLASSMAKERS WIN SHOWCASE WITH THEO PAPHITIS
A Stirling firm has been selected to showcase its award-winning giftware at an event backed by entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.
Angels’ Share Glass won a coveted stand at the #Small Business Sunday Pavilion at Autumn Fair in Birmingham following a competition.
The glassmakers were one of just 12 companies selected for a free exhibitor space at the #SBS Pavilion which is dedicated to highlighting new and innovative products from inspiring small businesses.
Angels’ Share Glass Managing Director Karen Somerville said: “We are delighted to be selected to attend the Autumn Fair and look forward to a busy day and the chance to chat to Theo again.
“This is a great opportunity as it allows us to reach new buyers from large department stores and overseas who can be difficult to get in touch with otherwise.
“It’s a chance for us to show off our giftware to buyers who are poised and ready to order products ahead of the year’s busiest retail period – the run up to Christmas. We will be sure to make the most of it.”
The firm will be showcasing its popular whisky and gin-filled baubles, unique Gin Pigs plus its signature line of whisky angels and best-selling whisky water droppers at Autumn Fair which runs from Sunday September 1 to Wednesday September 4 at the NEC Birmingham.
Small business champion Theo Paphitis created the #SBS initiative in 2010 inviting enterprising companies to tweet him about their venture and selecting the most impressive to join his now 2,500 strong #SBS community.
He teamed up with Autumn Fair organisers to arrange for 12 #SBS members to win a free stand at the event which he will be attending alongside them.
He said: “This year’s winners represent the very brightest and boldest of the UK retail sector.
“Their free space at Autumn Fair will provide an invaluable opportunity, offering them access and exposure to some of the retail sector’s most important and influential buyers.
“Presence at the show can have a significant impact on sales and leads – it’s an opportunity that can’t be wasted.
“Hopefully they’ll also be able to inspire visitors with their abundant entrepreneurial spirit!”
The 12 #SBS Pavilion winners were chosen from a shortlist judged by a panel of experts from Autumn Fair organisers, ITE Events.
Julie Driscoll, ITE Regional Director, said: “Each of the shortlisted businesses should be incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved.
“They’re an exceptional cohort of businesses that reflect the current state of incredible entrepreneurialism in the retail sector.
“We’ve selected the absolute crème de la crème of the shortlisted to come to the Autumn Fair this September.”
