This workshop, led by Alison Mayne from Knitrospective, celebrates the tradition of Scottish craft in a patterns inspired by Shetland lace knitting. You will create a delicate wrist warmer (excellent for keeping cosy at home or out and about) in JC Rennie’s supersoft lambswool Shetland 4ply in a colour of your choice. The pattern uses yarn over stitches and simple decreases to create a large thistle flower decoration.
Suitable for experienced knitters who enjoy small projects, or intermediate knitters who would like to develop their skills. You will have time to make at least one mitten, with the other being finished at home. Bring your own knitting needles - 2.75mm for a 6” wrist, 3mm for a 7” wrist or 3.25mm for an 8” wrist. Use whatever you prefer for knitting in the round - eg DPNs, a 80cm circular or mini -circular sock needle. All of these are available to purchase from the shop on the day. Suitable for age 16 and over.
The pattern and yarn will be provided along with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the workshop.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
