Level: Beginners
We’ll look at different techniques for making studs, hoops, dangles, etc. We’ll demonstrate lots of techniques to texture and shape your metal using our rolling mill, hammers and shaped punches. Experiment first in copper then when you’ve found your style we’ll move on to assemble your earrings in silver. We’ll use soldering techniques or assemble using hooks and wires to create a variety of different earrings in styles of your choosing. Create a set of studs for multiple piercings, simple hoops for the day and statement dangles for later, or curate a collection to gift or keep. The possibilities are endless!
What to bring:
We’ll provide everything you’ll need for your silver earrings workshop including tools and silver.
Please bring along glasses if you need them
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a studio environment including closed-toe shoes. Why not order yourself a CSSJ apron to make you feel right at home in your workshop?
If you have long hair please wear it up
If you are the type of person who prefers to arm yourself with some knowledge ahead of time we have prepared a Pinterest page filled with jewellery-making information and inspiration just for you!
Tea, coffee and biscuits are supplied, bring your own lunch to eat in the studio or we can advise you of nearby places to eat
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
