Join us for an exciting evening of poetry and readings from Billy Letford and Stirling Makar Laura Fyfe. This event features an open mic section showcasing some of our newest local literary stars.
Laura Fyfe is a poet, novelist and a prominent voice in Scotland’s writing community. She supports other writers by mentoring and facilitating writing workshops for communities across Scotland and online. Her work has been published in Butcher’s Dog, Postbox and was shortlisted for the 2022 Bridport Prize. Her pamphlet 'The Truth Lies' is available from Red Squirrel Press.
Billy Letford published his first collection of poetry while working in his family’s roofing business. Since then, his work has been adapted into film, projected onto buildings, adapted for the stage and performed by orchestras. He went on to do a MLitt in Creative Writing at Glasgow University, receiving a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award in 2008 and an Edwin Morgan travel bursary. Travelling widely across Northern Italy and beyond, Billy Letford has been invited to perform in Iraq, South Korea, Lebanon, Australia, Germany, India, Poland and many more countries.
