For this exhibition at the Tolbooth, artist Craig Campbell has focused on ‘Music Icons’, a celebration of the greats of the music industry as chosen by Craig!
About Craig Campbell Exhibition
CRAIG CAMPBELL – ARTIST
One of the leading portrait and figurative artists in Scotland, Craig has been mostly known for his sporting images and portraiture. Working professionally for over 40 years. Portraiture is where Craig’s real skill comes to life, his talent was noticed by Barbara Nicklaus whilst her golfer husband Jack was signing one of Craig’s portraits, which he had donated to charity. Since then they have worked together several times raising money for their mutual charities.
Craig has accepted several commissions to paint the Ryder Cup Teams, and has painted portraits of many famous faces in the golf world, such as Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, and ‘The Big Three’ Palmer, Nicklaus and Player.
Craig is also immensely proud of his ongoing charitable work. Supporting around ten individual charities annually. One of these being Nordoff Robbins Music Charity which benefits annually from the Scottish Music Awards. It was for one such event that Debbie Harry from Blondie signed Craig’s portrait of herself.
For this exhibition at Tolbooth, Craig has focused on ‘Music Icons’, a celebration of the greats of the music industry as chosen by Craig.
