Mass in B minor (Johann Sebastian Bach)
Rosenethe Singers was formed in 1964 and for our 60th anniversary concert, we are delighted to perform a monumental Mass which encapsulates JS Bach’s choral writing.
The entire work was only completed in 1749, the year before Bach’s death, and not performed in its entirety until the 19th century. This is sublime music, much admired by Mozart, Beethoven and Liszt.
A warm welcome awaits 5 super soloists, Susan Hamilton (soprano 1), Ulrike Wutscher (soprano 2), Hanna de Bruin (alto), Eden Devaney (tenor) & Phil Gault (bass). Angus Ramsay will lead the Cantilena Festival Ensemble and Kevin Duggan will conduct.
We are very excited about this concert and it will be wonderful to have a performance complete with orchestra once more.
Do come along and support a local choir. It's not every day you can hear one of the classical greats, with super soloists and musicians and a thoroughly enthusiastic choir and music director, in Stirling.
To enable as many as possible to attend, we have one ticket price of £15 and schoolchildren are free.'
Tickets £15 (schoolchildren free) available from choir members, at the door, or online at https://buytickets.at/rosenethesingers/1197960 (incurs a charge).
