Hosted by the brilliant Jay Lafferty, this show features some of the UK’s most exciting and acclaimed comedians. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Host: Jay Lafferty:
A firm favourite on the Scottish comedy scene, Jay Lafferty is famed for her razor-sharp wit and effortless charm. She’s a regular on BBC Scotland’s Breaking The News, has been crowned Best Compere at the Scottish Comedy Awards, and has sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and across the country. Jay’s warm, quick-fire banter makes her the perfect host for the evening.
Karl Porter:
Karl Porter shot to fame with his side-splitting slow-motion goal celebration routine, which went viral and has been viewed millions of times worldwide. Winner of both Social Media Act and Breakthrough Act of the Year at the North West Comedy Awards 2024, Karl’s energetic, physical comedy has seen him sell out venues across the UK. Expect big laughs from this internet sensation!
Kate Hammer:
Kate Hammer is an award-winning comedian, writer, and director, originally from Canada and now based in Scotland. Kate has been a semi-finalist in the Funny Women Awards, LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year, and Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year. With credits including BBC Short Stuff and acclaimed short films, Kate’s clever, inclusive stand-up is not to be missed.
Jack Traynor:
Ranked number 4 in the world in the Roast Battle League, Jack Traynor is one of the sharpest new voices in comedy. Named Roast Battle MVP in 2024 and runner-up at Hot Water Comedy Club’s New Comedian of the Year, Jack’s blend of surreal observations and razor-sharp put-downs make him a real crowd-pleaser.
Stephen Buchanan:
Stephen Buchanan is a Scottish comedy star, co-host of the hugely popular Some Laugh podcast and the first ever Scottish winner of the BBC New Comedy Award. He’s appeared on Comedy Central Live, Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club, and BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show. Stephen’s observational comedy and pitch-perfect delivery have earned him sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and beyond.
Headliner: Christopher Macarthur-Boyd:
Topping the bill is Christopher Macarthur-Boyd, widely regarded as one of the very best acts in the country right now. Star of Comedy Central Live and BBC Scotland’s Up For It, Christopher’s debut special Oh No! was released to critical acclaim in 2024. He’s written for 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Late Night Mash, and regularly appears alongside Frankie Boyle and Susie McCabe on the podcast Here Comes The Guillotine.
