Pointed Pen Calligraphy Workshop at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the art of beautiful writing at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum. This special workshop celebrates the gallery’s new exhibition of Mary, Queen of Scots’ Casket- the very casket said to have safeguarded her letters and personal correspondence.
Discover the elegance and precision of pointed pen calligraphy as we explore the timeless craft that once carried words of love, power, and intrigue across royal courts. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, you’ll learn to create flowing, expressive letterforms reminiscent of the historic scripts Mary herself might have admired.
Join us for a creative experience that connects the past to the present- perfect for lovers of history, art, and the written word.
This session will be hosted by Calligrapher and Engraving Artist Ceri Smart (@pandascribes) and is open to all aged 12+.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
